FREE Native American Flute Concert - 18 November 2012 - Brighton Memorial Library

A free Native American flute concert will be performed by Dr. Jefferson Svengsouk and the Finger Lakes Flute Circle at the Brighton Memorial Library, 2300 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618, Sunday, 18 November 2012, 2 p.m. The concert is to raise awareness of therapeutic music at the Palliative Care Program, University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). The concert will be followed by Q&A about the Native American flute, therapeutic music, and palliative care. Dr. Svengsouk is an emergency physician, and hospice and palliative care physician, and has received instruction under Native American flute recording artist R. Carlos Nakai.

Finger Lakes Flute Circle Meeting - 15 November 2012

The next meeting of the Finger Lakes Flute Circle is Thursday, 15 November 2012, 6:30 p.m. at the Brookside School. For directions, please see the sidebar to the right.

Beginners are welcome! Beginner flutes will be available to try. We will have a great time playing the Native American flute, drums, rattles, and hand percussion, and enjoying each other's music.

A $5 donation is requested for room rental costs.
