Leonard McGann Benefit Flute Auction: Final Auction Flute

The benefit flute auction for flute maker Leonard McGann, who is battling metastatic prostate cancer, will be coming to a close soon, Friday, December 16, 2011, 10pm CST (11pm EST). The final auction flute is an amazingly beautiful Anasazi flute by "Coyote Oldman" Michael Graham Allen. Quoting from the auction site, with accompanying images:
Generously made and donated by Mary Jane and Michael Graham Allen of Coyote Oldman Music
G# Blue Fire Anasazi, 29.5 inches, offset for right-handed at the low notes player. This is a rare instrument that Michael is not able to make very much any more.
It's hard to photograph the complexity and beauty of the surface design. Cedar with inlay earth pigment enamel paint. Finish is all-plant based Livos finish imported from Germany- multiple hand-rubbed coats.
This is a super quality professional instrument.

On the auction web site, you can still purchase a digital download of the hauntingly beautiful song from Scott August, "Lone Crow Song," for $2. All proceeds will be donated to Leonard McGann.

Please support Leonard and his wife Kitty with a purchase of this song!

Native American Flute at the Brighton Farmers' Market

We will be playing Native American flute at the Brighton Farmers' Market this afternoon, Sunday, December 4, 2011, 1pm-4pm. At this time of year they call it the Long Season Winter Farmers' Market, and it's held Sunday afternoons, 1 to 4 pm, through December 18, at Brighton's "Brookside Recreation Center." This happens to be the same place we hold the meetings of the Finger Lakes Flute Circle each month!

Today we will share the wonderful sounds of the Native American flute with the market shoppers, and invite everyone to join in making great music together, today at the market, and at the Finger Lakes Flute Circle meetings!
