Irish Cultural Workshop Day at Fisher - 30 September 2017

Irish Cultural Day, 30 September 2017
Comhaltas Rochester Irish Music Association

https://www.facebook.com/events/131043994164638

Want to learn an instrument? Step dance or set dance? Speak Irish?

Join us for an afternoon of free workshops in Irish music, dance, and culture, led by members of the Rochester Irish community. This event, which has been run for 14 years at Nazareth College, has moved a mile up the street to St. John Fisher College! We're excited to have the event back in 2017.

Location:
Kearney Hall
(The building with a spire, visible from East Ave)
St. John Fisher College
3690 East Ave
Rochester, NY 14618

We'll get together on the 1st Floor in Cleary Auditorium, and disperse to classrooms at 12:30.

Parking is free! Visitors can park in the A lot, which is very close to Kearney Hall, straight ahead from the East Avenue entrance.
If parking lot A is full, lots C, D, E, and F are also free for visitors on that day.

Construction Alert!
Never a dull moment on a college campus! Some construction is going on this year on campus as well, so stay tuned for any potential issues. Parking Lot A will likely be the closest lot to Kearney Hall -- watch for signs!

Finger Lakes Flute Circle Meeting 13 September 2017

The Finger Lakes Flute Circle will be meeting Wednesday, 13 September 2017, 6:30 pm, in the Conference Room at the Brookside School (Brighton Parks & Recreation), 1680 S Winton Rd, Rochester, NY 14618, entrance on Winton Rd, south of Westfall Rd. The official address, 220 Idlewood Rd, will take you through neighborhood streets to the alternate entrance on the other side of the building.

We are meeting on (mostly) the second Wednesday of the month this year.

Beginners are encouraged to visit! If you are new to the Native American flute, you really must join us! The Native American flute is very easy to learn to play. No prior experience or preparation is necessary. No written music required. We play the flute "from the heart" and make beautiful music.

There will be beginner flutes available to try out. We'll have a great time making beautiful music with Native American flutes, hand percussion, and drums.

$5 contribution is suggested to help with MeetUp.com and room rental costs.

All comers of all experience levels are welcome. We will make beautiful music together. We hope to see you there!
