Turtle Island Flutes at Canandaigua Treaty Day 11/11/11

Last year we attended the commemoration of the Canandaigua Treaty, but missed the Native American Arts & Craft Sale, which included Turtle Island Flutes Native American style flutes.

This year, while we will still be participating in all the activities, including joining the parade, attending the Commemoration Ceremony, enjoying the potluck dinner, listening to keynote speaker Seneca Nation President Robert Odowi Porter, and having a great time with Iroquois social dancing, we will be sure to get in to the Native American Arts & Crafts Sale to check out Turtle Island Flutes!

We will have a great time!

We just had the most amazing experience at the Flute Haven Native Flute School last week, with an eight-day workshop in native flute facilitation and musicianship, and we highly recommend going to next year's school! We'll be using many of the same games to make great music together at the Finger Lakes Flute Circle!

Flute Haven Flute School Mini Update

Just finished the facilitator track of the Flute Haven Native Flute School led by Clint Goss, and the first full day of the regular Flute School, and it is absolutely awesome! Multiple attendees are participating in the school for the second time, because it is such an incredible experience with flute playing and musicianship in general. There is still the weekend mini school open, for which you can just show up and register. I highly recommend the Flute Haven experience. There will be a lot of great new ideas to incorporate into our Finger Lakes Flute Circle meetings! The Flute Haven weekend mini session is in Phoenixville, PA, just outside of Philadelphia and Valley Forge National Historic Park, Friday evening, September 16, through Sunday morning, September 18. http://flutehaven.com
